Oh Kristan Higgins, where have you been all my life? I cannot believe that I have been passing up this wonderful author, and letting her books just sit on my shelf. Too Good To Be True is Higgins newest work, and the only one by her that I have read (at this time...this will not be true for long). I. Absolutely. Loved. This. Book. I cannot say enough good things about it.

Our hero, Grace, is absolutely hilarious. She's sharp, witty, nutty, and possibly a bit on the crazy side. When she can't take the huge pity party caused by her fiance leaving her for her younger sister, Grace makes up a boyfriend. And tells her whole family about him. And then she tells her hot...and I mean hot...neighbor about him. So her hot neighbor thinks she's dating a pediatric surgeon, when all Grace can really think about is her hot neighbor.

And don't even get me started on the hot neighbor. Callahan O'Shea (isn't that name just dreamy) is absolutely the most perfect man I have ever heard of (No, I am not cheating on my boyfriend, Edward - Edward is the most perfect vampire ever, and he sparkles in the sun...even sexy Callahan O'Shea doesn't sparkle). Anyway, this guy is just the sweetest thing ever, and if I wasn't already married to quite a wonderful man, I might have a bit of book lust for Callahan O'Shea...oh, who am I kidding...I do have book lust. Just reading about the guy makes me start batting my eyelashes and compulsively twirling my hair around my finger...lol.

I flew through this book rather quickly. There isn't one part of this book I didn't like, and one scene in particular had me laughing so hard I had tears rolling down my face. I loved the ending and epilogue of the book so much I've read it three times. This book is definitely a keeper, and I will definitely be reading it again in the future.

Kristan Higgins has a short back list of three books (with a new one on the way this summer!!). I've already gotten my hands on them, and I'm packing them in my suitcase for Florida. I think they are just what I'll need for those lazy days on the beach.

Despite my behavior, my husband is still not interested in the movie...disappointing. It probably doesn't help that I told him I'd leave him for Edward in a heartbeat now does it ;)

I've been looking at this book on and off for months on the shelves at Borders. I would pick it up, read the description and then put it back on the shelf each time. I wasn't sure if it would be something I would like, and I wasn't sure if I liked how the book was set up. It wasn't until Katie (she has a great blog and reads awesome books) said it was something that I might like, did I actually pick up a copy. I should have done it a long time ago.

I actually bought this book while I was on lunch at work, around noon. By the time I left work at 4:30pm I had already managed to sneak in about 50 pages. Once I opened it I couldn't put it down. I came home, read until we had to leave for dinner, and then got home around 9pm and finished up with it around 11pm. The book reads fast and the set up really helps it keep moving. I loved Janie and couldn't wait to see what happened to her. Plus Cabel, the "hero" of the story, is stunning. I could just picture him in my mind and wow...he's like up there with Edward wow for me.

The writing in this book is really good and the story is so gripping its all you can think about when you're finished with the novel. The story really sticks with you. It's really intense for a young adult novel and I was sucked in from the very first page. And then, as if the whole book being about dreams wasn't odd enough, I dreamt about Cabel last night...I told you he was Edward hot.

All I can say is thank goodness I bought the sequel while I was at Borders too...

A New Month...A Great Movie

Ok, so I wasn't so hot in the posting department for November. I'm about four reviews behind, so I should be getting those up here in the next few days. DH is out of town for deer hunting season, so I'm at home by myself (thank goodness I have those two vicious attack dogs to keep me safe - they'll wag their tails to ward off the bad guys ;) ) I didn't read any of my November books. I ended up getting sucked into the library and not bothering with the books I had picked out. Sad and pathetic.

On a much happier note, I went and saw Twilight yesterday. I will be returning to the theater this weekend to see it again. I thought it was *that* good. I sat there and quietly drooled over Edward, totally enthralled with his relationship with Bella. I seriously considered leaving DH and going to hunt down Rob Pattison and begging him to marry me. That idea is still under heavy thought...lol. The whole movie, in and of itself, was truly amazing to me. I got out of the theater, and couldn't stop talking about it. Then I got home and couldn't stop thinking about it. I woke up several times in the middle of the night, thinking of Edward. I had the whole sweaty palms, shortness of breath, couldn't speak thing going on. It was as bad as, if not worse, then when I read the book.

When I had seen the previews for the movies, I didn't know how I felt about Rob Pattison. Was he truly worthy to play someone as stunningly beautiful as Edward? I had very mixed feelings about him as an actor. However, I tried to keep an open mind about the whole thing. I didn't want to guide a book by the cover, per say. So as the opening credits began to roll, I settled into my seat with my popcorn and giant sized Dr. Pepper fearing disappoint but hoping to me amazed. As the first couple of scenes featuring Edward played across the screen, my fears began to melt. And then, it happened. Bella was going to be attacked by those nasty strange men, when Edward's silver Volvo comes flying onto the screen. Jumping out of the car he immediately tells Bella to get in the car and scares away the bad guys. Angels sang, my heart jumped, I was swooning. And that my friends, is when the obsession started.

So my advice --- GO SEE THE MOVIE. Take your mom, take your friends, take a drool bib --- JUST GO!!
